2026 Adventure Week

St. Andrew's Camp official 2026 Children's Camp Season started off on July 5th with Adventure Week, with groups of campers engaging in a variety of exciting activities and events from treasure hunts, sailboat classes, forest and wilderness adventures, anchored by a rich program of Church Services and Religious Education / Christian Formation.
Campers were surprised to meet a team of experienced adventurers (camp counselors)  who enlisted their help in researching and discovering a lost artifact hidden somewhere on the campus. Throughout the week they discovered through a trail of scriptural clues that the item was related to St. Andrew the First-Called of the Apostles, culminating in their uncovering of the saltire, St. Andrew's Cross! Adventure campers demonstrated some impressive sleuthing and wilderness skills to successfully complete the hunt.
Forest adventures were a highlight for campers as they built wilderness shelters in the forested area of campus, learned some basic survival skills, and made walking sticks.
The camp was excited to introduce our Sailboat Program this week, led by Dr. Cy Kozak. Campers got to learn about the different operating parts of the sailboat before voyaging out onto Lake Oneida in groups to learn how to operate the boat.
Chapel services included Daily Matins and Vespers, as well as Divine Liturgy served by Archbishop Michael, and the Akathist Glory to God for All Things.
Conventional camp activities like sports, swimming, crafts, and board game night were enjoyed by all in great examples of Christian fellowship and bonding. Old friendships were refreshed while many new ones were formed!
