Family Week at Saint Andrew's Camp was a beautiful reminder that some of life's greatest blessings are found in simply being together.

 

Throughout the week, families stepped away from the busyness of everyday life to worship, learn, laugh, play, and grow together. Daily services, religious education, and the celebration of the Divine Liturgy with His Eminence, Archbishop Michael, kept Christ at the center of everything we did. Families also enjoyed kayaking, swimming, crafts, sports, campfires, games, and plenty of time to relax and connect with one another.

 

A highlight of the week was our annual question-and-answer session with Archbishop Michael. We are always grateful for the opportunity to spend time with our hierarch, asking questions, receiving guidance, and growing in our understanding of the Orthodox faith.

 

Special events brought even more fun to the week.  We began the week with an Around the World Party which featured international music, dancing, games, and food. Our amazing kitchen staff put together a phenomenal menu featuring delectable fare from across the globe. Later in the week, we celebrated our great nation's 250th anniversary with a fun and patriotic "Americarnival," complete with carnival games, music, face painting, balloon creations, and a fireworks finale.

 

Perhaps the greatest joy of Family Week is watching friendships grow and families make memories together while strengthening their faith. We are grateful to every family, volunteer, clergy member, and staff member who made this week so special, and we pray that the peace and joy experienced at Saint Andrew's Camp will remain with them throughout the coming year.
