Week 1 Skits: “The Creation”

Ecology Week Ends in Style with Eco Fashion Show!

The talented campers and counselors creatively ended ecology week 1 at camp with a Friday-night fashion show, featuring clothes repurposed from various materials. From newspaper and coardboard, to other odds and ends, the campers let form and function come together for an awesome display of “eco-couture.”

Bishop +Michael of New York Makes First Visit to Saint Andrew’s Camp

His Grace, Bishop +Michael, made his first visit to Saint Andrew’s Camp during week 1 of the camping season, spending nearly two full days with the campers and staff, attending services, participating in activities, and leading religious discussion classes.  He was accompanied by his assistant, Subdeacon Alex, who also took part in activities and services with the children. Incoming campers, be prepared with your questions!

Last year, during Fr. Eric Tosi and Father Andrew Jarmus’ teen week visit, campers were encouraged to anonymously ask questions by writing them down and dropping them in a box for clergy to respond to.  Fr. Eric and Fr. Ecology Week Activities!

Week 1 of the 2010 camping season has been dedicated to ecology studies and discussions and camping skills. As part of this year’s ecology week, campers were visited by a member of the local 4H community, who gave a presentation about pollution. Day 3: Great Vespers with Fr. Vasily Lickwar

After an afternoon choir rehearsal with choir director, former counselor, and arts and crafts expert, Bill Kraftician, the campers, staff and visitors winded down the evening with a Great Vespers service on Tuesday in preparation for the following morning’s Divine Liturgy.
